Stock hunting and an evening in Beach Blanket Babylon
I like to look for special one off pieces for our clients and for myself too so I know some very good places though you have to really hunt for special designer items. So it was after such a day that we went to the celebrated 'Beach Blanket Babylon' in Notting Hill. This is also a bit out of the way but has a discerning clientelle and the odd celebrity, and fabulous cocktails.
Well my partner David bought me a Burberry velvet vintage pencil skirt for Valentines Day so I wanted an opportunity to wear it. Was a bitterly cold day though so I wore a vintage mink we have in stock, and teamed it with one of our new hats which will be on the website soon. I love the skirt and want to design something with similar fit as almost all pencil skirts are far too A line.
I think a tight hobble pencil skirt will look really good with one of our capes. So watch this space: we have a stand at Goodwood Revival so its my missions to produce an affordable quality pencil skirt by then.
Beach Blanket Babylon didn't disappoint ...the ambience, decor (love the chain bridge and lighting) and cocktails are fabulous...I had a 'porn star' which has a prosecco on the side: two drinks in one! No wonder this is an official venue when it is London Fashion week! Even the smoking area outside is very nice.
As we were about to set off for home we bumped into the London Standard journalist lovely Joanna Bell and you guessed it....another excuse for more cocktails!
